as we move up the organisation we should be doing less ourselves and enabling others to do.


So the emotional challenge is to get as much satisfaction and joy from somebody else achieving their goals as doing it ourselves.

Not chopping the wood yourself but helping someone find the axe, allowing and encouraging  them to practice, learn and produce their own nicely stacked pile of wood, with the purpose of producing a wonderful warm fire where people feel welcome, to enjoy some good dialogue.

Observing this end result and seeing the joy in their face is your satisfaction. This may be producing something and also seeing them create a leadership culture around them.
